Added Benefit

The Sun peaked up over the horizon. The Sun noticed me and said, “How am I doing?”

I said that it was an okay presentation so far, but not its best.

The Sun said, “Oh. What could I be doing better?”

I said that it would help if the Sun added to its display with a song.

The Sun sang, “It’s Not What You Do, But What You Do-Do-Do!”

I stood up and applauded.

The pile of dirt

I asked the pile of dirt why it was just sitting there.

The pile of dirt said, “I’m resting.”

I asked what had made the dirt so tired.

The dirt said, “Holding up people, trees, and buildings.”

The visit

I went to your home and knocked but there was no answer. I noticed the door was unlocked, so I let myself in and called your name. There was silence.

I was hungry, so I went to your fridge and made myself a sandwich. I was tired after the sandwich, so I laid down in your bed and slept.

When I awoke it was night. I got up and looked around and noticed that you were still not there.

That was over seven years ago. I’m still at your home and you’ve yet to return.

I’ve come to realize that I somehow entered a different dimension, perhaps by my original act of knocking. Physics has shown that loud sounds effect vibrational freqencies, perchance unlocking boundaries in spacetime.

Anyway, I wanted you to know in case you’ve tried to contact me and thought ill of me for not getting back to you.
