Brooks got an art degree at MIU in Fairfield, Iowa. It’s the school where all the students and faculty practice TM. He actually got academic credit for meditating. Brooks excels at sitting quietly with his eyes closed.
Brooks favors creating art with oil pastels. They appeal to him because they don’t smell badly like oil paints, there’s little cleanup, and he loves their brilliant colors. But secretly he likes how much oil pastels are like coloring with crayons, his original love. Enjoy some of Brooks’ creations on this internet slide show .
Brooks also enjoys writing stories, particularly the short and funny variety. He feels he is a journalist for the fictional world. You can read the latest story in the Better Late Than Dead times (link to the blog posts).
Mr. Palmer got his first guitar when he was 14. He took lessons for a few months where he learned the likes of Drunken Sailor and Still the Same. This was followed by many of his high school nights spent in his family’s basement, strumming and singing made up songs. He was private and preferred himself as an audience.
Brooks is also a Clutter Buster. He helps people let go of what’s no longer serving them. He wrote the best-selling books, Clutter Busting: Letting Go of What’s Holding You Back, and Clutter Busting Your Life: Clearing Physical and Emotional Clutter to Reconnect Yourself and Others. They have been translated into eight languages. He gives motivational talks around the country about how to let go of clutter. For more info check out www.clutterbusting.com
